The December issue of Harpers is out: both on paper and on the web. Richard Maltby's variety cryptic has a holiday theme, and some red and green rows. I found that when I printed it out, the colored rows were very dark, so here's a blank grid with lighter shading. The solution will be posted along with Sunday brunch.

ReplyDeleteNot right to publish the solution when Harper's has a contest.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Anon. We'll hold the solution until after the deadline. Since I already have access to Harper's and I don't need the subscription, I don't think about the contest. Ditto with the FT (when I can solve it), since I don't think the return on investment for an overseas airmail stamp would be sufficient).
